Age of Napoleon

We are at it again, the students of AP Euro have filmed and produced their videos on the rise to power, reign, and fall of Napoleon.

Video #1 - Covers the Consulate phase of France from 1799 to 1804

Video #2 - Covers the Reign of Napoleon and his fall from power at Waterloo, 1804 to 1815

This class has a personality all it's own, and it shows in these student videos. Enjoy.

The Scientific Revolution

So instead of reinventing the wheel (pun intended) here is another AP Euro teacher video, her animation is better than mine (but don't get any ideas).

This video covers the reasons for the Scientific revolution and the Major players involved. Watch the video and read the assigned pages (417-429) and be prepared to discuss these topics in class tomorrow. Quiz will be on Fri!

Constitutionalism: The Conflict

Along with watching this video, make sure you have read your textbook! As always this is just the big picture, not the details (otherwise this video would be 30 minutes or longer , not just 15 min)

Quiz on Friday

Unit 2 (Religious Wars, Absolutism, and Constitutionalism) Test on Tue/Wed!!

Next week will be looking at the rise of Absolutism and Constitutionalism in Europe.

On Monday we will be looking at the change in monarchies power and structure from pre-Thirty Years' War to the beginning of Absolutism. Make sure you have watched the embedded video and read pp. 427-436

On Tuesday, we will be having a Socratic Seminar over the rise and influence of Louis XIV power in Europe. You received the packet of articles, question form, and rubric today in class. Be prepared! There will be a video on Louis XIV by Monday as well (hint: I would watch it before the Socratic).

Age of Religious Wars - The Intro

After watching the video and reading pages 401 to 408 of your textbook be prepared for a quick quiz on Monday.
In class on Monday we will be having a discussion over the start of this period in which I will only answer 10 questions in class. So read the section (including the primary resources), take good notes, watch the video, take good notes, and come prepared to discuss what led up to this period and who were the major players during this time. Remember I will answer only 10 questions, so make them good ones.
