WWII in Satire
I challenged students to create newscast from the perspective of either the Axis Powers or the Allies, much like that of The Daily Show and Cobert Report. The students took this basic concept and expanded upon it. They were given certain events they had to cover, and options on others. The following are the videos they produced. The videos are clever, and do a good job covering the events of WWII in unique ways. The students were asked to be sensitive to certain topics, and respectful of these events.
As a class we understand and respect all of those that lost their lives in various forms during WWII, and are not trying to glamorize or glorify any people or groups, nor or we trying to be disrespectful to people or events. They students are using satire to point out the extreme flaws in logic and tragedy of events. Please keep an open mind when viewing.
